We began September living our best life at BIGSOUND 2022, catching up with industry friends and falling in love with new bands (hello Full Flower Moon Band).
Head Rebel Bel spent the week cooking up ideas for Rebel Yell, while Rebel Mel (yeah we’re leaning into it) wrote about some bands for the first ever Music Writer’s Lab.

South Australian visual artist Dave Court has debuted his latest solo exhibition at Melbourne’s (Naarm) Backwoods Gallery. Featuring a suite of colourful works across different media, including painting, sculpture, projection and sound, Dave has also been exploring AI-generated art in his exhibition Learning Machine.
Adelaide’s original roots and blues fest Semaphore Music Festival celebrated its 18th year with music from Kings & Associates, Lazy Eye, Velvet Moth, Sunsick Daisy and heaps more local blues, roots and folk bands along the Semaphore shoreline.
WHAT’S COMING UP
Our mates at UniBar (also known as the team behind Beer & BBQ Fest) have got some cracker gigs lined up for October and November, including Aussie legends The Mark Of Cain and 28 Days for UniBar’s AMC SA Music Hall Of Fame induction celebration In The Day, plus interstate punks The Southern River Band, LOSER and CLAMM for round two of Punk Rock Riot and noise makers Bugs and A. Swayze & The Ghosts join a local lineup for Halloween Ball 3.
Music SA’s Bands On Track returns this December. This year six local emerging bands will be given the opportunity to open for massive national and international acts such as The Killers, Lime Cordiale, Baker Boy, Jimmy Barnes, ICEHOUSE and Noiseworks at the VALO Adelaide 500 concert series!
